November

November

Rocks and Antler, watercolour, 2010

The ivory coloured deer antler is so sculptural as it sits atop the granite field stones. These stones are striped and spotted in a variety of pinks, blues and greys with very dark grey shadows for contrast.

By the time November rolls around the wild geese have already left our neighbourhood, but I was glad to see that they were still lingering an hour south of us on Stoney Lake late in November. They have black beaks, heads and necks; white cheeks and chests and light brown wing feathers and legs.
