Bees and Coneflowers, drawing, 2016

The fate of honeybees is another hot topic of late. Certainly we have noticed their declining population around here over the last few years. These bees were hanging out in the front garden on the purple coneflowers. Our neighbors down the road just got some hives this year so we have been enjoying the bees all over the clover on the lawn. Their valued presence also provides an excuse not to mow frequently and go for a more natural look around the cabin which is great because I hate mowing the lawn almost as much as washing dishes!
